We also went to galleria lafayette which has an amazing gold roof but designer shops don't really interest me at all. Everything is so expensive in there i could spend my whole budget on a bag... no thanks, i need drinking money :) Later on we went to this beach that they make during summer along one of the lakes, they put out umbrellas, sand and beach chairs. Its a nice place to relax for a bit when you have been walking all day. That night we met up with the family again and they shouted us dinner... We are so spoilt. Dinner was yum and i actually drank wine. Wine in europe is awesome, it tastes really watered down, it doesn't have a feral after taste. I usually vom if i have wine but lately ive had heaps.
Paris was fun but it is so busy and full of tourists, we only really had 2 full days there and we did all the touristy crap and it gets really annoying when it is so busy everywhere. I wished we could have stayed longer and seen a bit more than just all the main tourist sites but i was also a bit sick of the place and ready to get to a quieter place.
ALSO we had some really weird people in our room, it was a four person room and the other 2 people were japanese. They told us on the first night that there was another friend coming and staying in the room which we thought was weird cos there was no space. The next day came and another guy came into the room and he explained that they had a friend in paris but only one person could stay with him a night so the three guys would swap. The guy that came on the second night was a weirdo he wouldn't stop talking to us. Especially before babsi went to notre dame, i was trying to go back to sleep but he wouldn't shut up. That night i also heard him breathing deeply as we just turned the light off, he was also alone at the room already without his friends when we got back to the hostel. Our bed was a bit broken, we were afraid babsi was going to fall on me in the middle of the night so we put her matress on the floor. In the middle of the night i woke up to find some one had walked to the window but right past my bed. Babsi's matress was pushed up against my bed so i thought they walked over her. In the morning i woke up to find creepy japanese guy sitting on my bed. I think me and babsi woke up at the same moment and i said to the guy WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING? He just stuttered and didn't said some bullshit that didn't make sense. So i said Get off my bed! Now! And he did. Me and babsi looked at each other like what the F and i said in my dodgy german did you move the bed and she said no. After a couple of minutes babsi couldn't help herself and said So what were you doing on her bed? He said he wanted to say goodbye cos it was their last day. It was 7 o'clock in the morning. I said to him i don't know you, i don't want to say goodbye to you, if you had to work early in the morning would you wake you parents up to say goodbye? Most of it i don't think he understood but it made babsi laugh. I didn't realise it was their last day otherwise i probably would have gone off on totally off. Its a good story though... cos nothing that bad happened.
The next morning me and babas went to Lyon. We found a hostel pretty easily and it was an awesome hostel, especially compared to the one in paris which was small and boring and had room lockout from 11am till 5pm. We were on a hill though which totally sucked because we had to walk up it to get back to the hostel everyday. The first day we had a quick look down the hill bought dinner and some alcohol and sat around at the hostel drinking with some german dudes.
The next day went shopping, there are so many places to go shopping in Lyon which i loved. The map that we got showed all the main shopping areas which was the best i was so excited when i realised we could do some awesome shopping instead of being tourists. The town is so cool, there are so many little streets winding around everywhere and little alleyways all over the place. We went to the main square called Place Bellecour, it is the third biggest square in france. I also bought a pair of pant for 7 euros, they are actually pretty cute.
Anyways im about to go to the supermarket with babas so ill write some more maybe tomorrow.... One day ill catch up on this fricken blog but there is so much to say!
